Say High to the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe

There is simply no ignoring the new Hyundai Santa Fe. Its presence, whether parked 
or in motion captures your eye and holds it in its stare – this is one 7-seater SUV that 
will get attention. Just launched onto our Irish market, this latest Santa Fe is 
markedly at variance with the model it replaces, being longer, wider and way more 
street-confident. As a model name, it is known in every Irish hamlet, the previous 
four generations establishing it as a favourite, its functionality and practicality 
winning it space in many family driveways. 
From its ‘H’ style Day Running Lights to its name across its boot lid, and the low 
slung ‘H’ rear LED’s, the Santa Fe is no shy debutant, rather this is a car full of self- 
assurance outside and in, and with prices starting at €69,995 (ex-delivery and 
related charges), it is right to assume that it must possess enough to merit such an 
outlay – and it does not disappoint. 
On my brief, but varied road introduction at its Irish launch, I got to sample the new 
Santa Fe on urban, rural and motorway roads, none of which pose any difficulty, its 
physique however occupying its lane on the back roads with little to spare, the lofty 
driving position and good all-round visibility a real bonus. 
Powered by a 1.6 petrol with Hybrid assistance, (there is no diesel option), the Santa 
Fe offers a smooth and serene drive and with some 58km of electric propulsion 
available, there is virtually no intrusion into the morning or evening commute 
conversation – adjustment of regenerative braking via the steering paddle-shift 
allowing for nigh-on one pedal driving – love it. 
This latest Santa Fe has elevated an already competent offering to a whole new level. 
There is no attempt by Hyundai in flattering to deceive, rather they have delivered an 
adult-friendly 7-seater that is well built, well equipped and well up for any reasonable 
task asked of it. This is a must drive car to put on your test drive list. 
In the segment of 7-seater offerings, this latest Santa Fe is more than capable of not 
just holding its ground, it will welcome new faces to the Hyundai family table.
