Peugeot Rifter
Replacing the Partner Tepee MPV is the new Rifter, which borrows SUV characteristics from the 3008 and 5008 SUVs - high ride height, large wheels, wheel arches and rear bumper protection – the result a very imposing roomy option for the private and commercial user.
Inside it comes with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit, with high levels of safety and comfort equipment and is available in two lengths, with 5 or 7 seats, the latter available for an extra €950. Where it gets really attractive is at the till, where you will be asked for €23,540 plus delivery for the introductory model – phenomenal value.
Available in two body lengths, boot space with five seats is 775 litres and 1050 litres respectively.
On a Cork to Dublin road trip, the Rifter was quiet and comfortable and being a seven-seater had no road noise booming from the rear, which can be the case with long multi-seat vehicles.
Good, high-backed seats provided support for the journey, where I stopped for a fifteen-minute break and then set out on the remaining mileage, the 8-speed automatic, 1.5 BlueHDi diesel, with its 130bhp a very willing companion, the benefit of cruise control a true guardian.
The Rifter is a definite option for those seeking space and seats for seven. It carries all the internal comforts necessary for short and long journeys, with a range of engines and transmissions to sit the lifestyle and pocket. The introductory price is not a typo - €23,540 plus delivery, for the 1.5 Active BlueHDi 75BHP. A must drive.
Customers for the new Rifter can choose from three trims:
Rifter 1.5 Active BlueHDi 75BHP €23,540

Rifter 1.5 GT Line BlueHDi 100BHP €29,17
