Welcome Citroen ë-C4 X Electric

Citroën have announced details of their new ë-C4 X Electric model which features a
design combining the elegance of a fastback silhouette with the modern attitude of
an SUV and that of a spacious 4-door. Pricing for the New ë-C4 X starts from
€39,967 or from €368 a month with 3.65% APR finance.
The ë-C4 X Electric is available with several safety and technology features as
standard, featuring Citroën’s Advanced Comfort Programme. In a first for Citroën,
this model will launch exclusively in an all-electric powertrain in Ireland with petrol
and diesel models set to arrive later this year. First electric models are now available
to test drive for the upcoming 232-registration period.

First Impressions
Viewed from the outside, the design includes a front-end incorporating Citroën’s
rounded design signature, with their two chevrons central on the bonnet. That high,
horizontal bonnet features concave indentations, those chrome chevrons stretch
across the width of the body, connecting with double-height front lamps using LED
headlights.
Large 690mm diameter wheels combined with a short front overhang give the car a
raised ride height which results in a more elevated driving position. When viewed in
profile, the car’s roofline flows from the top of the windscreen into the top panel of
the boot lid to create a fastback silhouette.
With a length of 4,600mm and a wheelbase of 2,670mm and a drag coefficient of Cd
0.29, the aerodynamic efficiency of the C4-X has been optimised thanks to the easy
on the eye roofline.
The rear overhang disguises the length required to package the 510-litre boot. New
LED tail lamps sit either side of the boot opening and carry through the sculpted
lines of the boot lid, pushing around the corners and along the sides of the car.

Inside Story
Inside you are get some 198mm of second row knee room and a more reclined rear
seatback, while its width allows for three people to comfortably sit side-by-side
across the rear bench.
The new ë-C4 X features the brands Advanced Comfort Seats with special foam
thickened by 15mm plus a unique blend of visual, postural, and dynamic support.
High-density foam at the core of the seats ensures comfort particularly on longer
journeys and maintains this over time by reducing any settling effects and ageing
within the seats.
The ë-C4 X also includes Citroën’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions suspension
system. The presence of hydraulic stops allows Citroën engineers greater freedom to
tune the suspension setup to achieve the brand’s acclaimed “magic carpet ride”
effect, which gives the impression that the car is gliding over uneven ground.

Powertrains
The ë-C4 X will launch initially in an all-electric powertrain in Ireland, coming with a
50kWh battery, offering an WLTP range of up to 360 km. The 100kW electric motor
offers 136 hp with 260 Nm of torque.
To cater to customers who have a broad range of usages and need affordable prices to
keep their freedom of mobility, Citroën will launch new C4 X in Petrol and Diesel
powertrains in Ireland late 2023. Models are expected to arrive with Puretech 100 6-
speed manual and Puretech 130 8-speed automatic petrol engines with a BlueHDi
130 8-speed automatic also available.

Driving Modes
Three driving modes are available – Eco, Normal or Sport, activated by the mode
selector in the centre console based on the driver’s preference. At a public charging
station, using a rapid 100 kW DC charger, the battery replenishes at a rate of around
10 km/min, with 80% of charge completed in 30 minutes. Using a 7.4 kW wall box,
charging takes 7.5 hours with single-phase supply or as little as 5 hours with a three-
phase electricity supply. Managing vehicle charging is easy and can be pre-
programmed to take advantage of off-peak electricity prices. Charging times can be
pre-set using the car’s touchscreen My Citroën Drive Plus interface or the My Citroën
app.
Speaking on the arrival of the ë-C4 X , Colin Sheridan MD of Citroën Ireland
commented “Building on the strengths of C4, Irish Medium Car of the Year and our
best-selling model in 2022, we are thrilled to launch all-new ë-C4 X. This model not
only expands Citroën’s electric offering, though it provides further choice to
customers seeking larger boot space, extensive comfort, and an electric range
suitable to all needs. Better yet, we will see petrol and diesel models arrive later this
year, allowing further benefits to private and fleet customers.”
